Can you teach happiness?
Normally, if you’re asked a question like that the answer is almost always “no”.
Admittedly I’ve asked that very question more than once. I’m normally an optimistic person. I don’t bet on the end of the word and I tend to believe, if you work hard enough, anything is possible.
But I’m not a robot. Like everyone else I have things that get me down.
It’s tough being a provider. Everyone is looking to you. If you have employees the pressure only gets bigger. Now you’re not only responsible for your family, but dozens (or hundreds) of others are counting on you to make the right decisions so they can feed their families.
All of that stress can really get you down.
One of the things I try to do is compartmentalize and be present no matter where I am.
If I’m working, I’m working and you’ll be hard pressed to pull me away from it. If I’m at dinner with friends, or having a glass of wine with my fiancé then I try to leave the fears and stresses locked way in the back of my mind.
But I’m not sure that’s the best thing to do. It certainly doesn’t help me fell less stressed or more joyful.
At best it lets me push down that fear and stress for a short time.
So, in an effort of personal self-improvement I’ve invited a very special guest on my podcast today. His name is Yogesh Chabria. He’s the author of the book “The Happionaire Way” and he helps entrepreneurs like you and me find a little more peace and happiness in our lives.
You can watch live on our our podcast youtube page or catch the recording later today.
